Deborah L Smith -  Cree Métis

My work reflects, as an Indigenous Researcher/Consultant/Writer, decades of experience that merges with a current understanding of technology, media, and the future of creativity.  My love of research and discovery has taken me deeply into past, present, and future stories that are not being told.  I am also an artist and producer, but for the next three years my goal is to focus on completion of a PhD in Creative Writing program with Warnbourough College located in Ireland.

I embody a creative spiritual and emotional position that cannot be separated from all of us who are sovereign and loving, compassionate men and women.  This is reflected in my work that excites me and pushes me to tell as many stories as possible to enlighten, educate, and entertain an audience who thrills outside of the mainstream.

I take this opportunity, for the time I have left on this planet, to dedicate energy, the force of Ancestral Spirits that speaks through me, and gathering like-minded artists, scholars, people and organizations to remember who they are here for. The next seven generations are who we are responsible for, according to the lessons taught to me by Indigenous mentors and teachers.

We can do that by telling our stories. I facilitate that process by taking up the heavy-duty work of research, consulting, compilation, writing content, and lead to a polished final product.
